Oil Pump (4470): Disassembly

  1. Remove oil pump cover screws and cover from oil pump body. See Figure . Remove oil pump drive gear and driven gear from oil pump body. Remove pick-up tube clamp.
  2. Remove pick-up tube and oil pump pick-up from oil pump body. Inspect oil pump gears and housing for wear, galling or cracks. If visible, replace oil pump assembly.
NOTE: Ensure moving parts are lubricated with ATF before assembly.
