Sensors & Switches

The PCM/TCM controls upshifts and downshifts based on coolant temperature, transmission temperature, system voltage, throttle position, transmission oil pressure switches, and transmission output and input speed sensors. See Figure. The system includes several other switches and sensors that are used for engine control (gasoline engines).
