Gauge Reading Is Inaccurate

  1. Disconnect oil pressure sending unit connector. Connect Red lead of Gauge Tester (J 33431-B) to sending unit connector Tan wire. Connect other wire to ground. Adjust tester resistance dials to zero ohm, then adjust to 90 ohms.
  2. Oil pressure gauge should read low, then high pressure. If gauge responds correctly, replace oil pressure sending unit. If gauge does not respond as described, check for open circuit in Tan wire. If circuit is okay, replace instrument cluster.
