Gauge Always Reads Full

  1. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit wire. Turn ignition on. Connect a fused jumper wire from sending unit Pink wire to ground. If gauge reads full, check for short circuit in Pink wire. If wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
  2. If fuel gauge reads empty, connect a fused jumper between Pink and Black wires of fuel sending unit. If fuel gauge reads full, repair open in Black wire. If fuel gauge reads empty, replace fuel sending unit.
