Removal (12" Full-Floating Axle)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove brake caliper (DO NOT disconnect brake hose). See REAR BRAKE CALIPER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Remove hub cap and gasket from hub. See Figure. Install Adapter (J-2619-01) in tapped hole on axle shaft flange.
  2. Using slide hammer and adapter, remove axle shaft. Bend lock washer tab away from lock nut. Using Wheel Bearing Nut Wrench(J-25510), remove lock nut. Remove lock washer, adjusting nut and washer. Remove hub and rotor assembly.
