Voltmeter Reads Below 9 Volts (Van)

  1. Check battery voltage. If battery voltage is greater than 9.6 volts, check all voltmeter gauge connections. Ensure connections are clean and tight. If voltmeter gauge still reads below normal, apply 12 volts directly to voltmeter gauge.
  2. If voltmeter does not respond correctly, replace voltmeter gauge. If battery voltage is below 9.6 volts, recharge battery. Observe voltmeter gauge while battery charger is working. Voltmeter gauge should read at least 12 volts. Check charging system for proper operation.
