Oil Pressure Gauge

Oil pressure gauge measures electrical current from variable resistance unit (oil pressure sending unit). Sending unit should register one ohm of resistance with engine off. It should register 44 ohms of resistance with oil pressure at 40 psi (2.8 kg/cm² ). A change in resistance changes current flow through gauge electromagnetic coils, moving pointer toward appropriate reading. Sending unit is located on left rear side of engine.
