Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, 1995 Dodge Caravan, and 1995 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- CKP sensor is located in transmission bellhousing near drive plate. Connect lab type oscilloscope to sensor output wire at CKP sensor connector (Gray/Violet wire).
- With CKP sensor connector connected, start or crank engine. The output voltage of a good CKP sensor should switch between about 5.0 volts and about 0.3 volt. See Figure . If output voltage does not fluctuate between 0-5 volts, check Red wire at CKP sensor connector for 8-volt reference voltage. Ensure good ground exists on Black/Light Blue wire at CKP sensor connector
