Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1995 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- CKP sensor is located in transmission bellhousing near drive plate. Connect lab type oscilloscope to sensor output wire at CKP sensor connector (Gray/Violet wire).
- With CKP sensor connector connected, start or crank engine. The output voltage of a good CKP sensor should switch between about 5.0 volts and about 0.3 volt. See Figure . If output voltage does not fluctuate between 0-5 volts, check Red wire at CKP sensor connector for 8-volt reference voltage. Ensure good ground exists on Black/Light Blue wire at CKP sensor connector.
