Left & Right Impact Sensors: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Impact sensors are mounted on radiator support, behind grille opening reinforcement. See Fig 1 . To remove left impact sensor, remove battery hold-down, and move battery rearward. Remove impact sensor mounting nuts. Disconnect impact sensor connector and remove sensor.

  3. To remove right impact sensor, disconnect air cleaner tube from radiator support. Remove impact sensor mounting nuts. Disconnect impact sensor connector, and remove sensor.
