Driver-Side Air Bag Module & Steering Wheel: Removal

- Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Driver-side air bag module is mounted on face of steering wheel. See Figure . Position wheels in straight ahead position. Remove cruise control switches (if equipped) and covers from steering wheel back shroud, and disconnect wires.
- Remove air bag module retaining bolts/nuts from rear of steering wheel. Lift air bag module from steering wheel, and disconnect electrical connector. Remove air bag module. Using Puller (C3428B), remove steering wheel.
