Rocker Arms & Push Rods: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1995 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove air intake plenum (upper intake manifold). See INTAKE MANIFOLD . Disconnect spark plug wires. Disconnect closed ventilation system and evaporation control system components from valve cover (if necessary).
  2. Remove valve cover. Remove rocker arm shaft bolts. Remove rocker arm assembly. If removing push rods, mark push rod location for reassembly reference.
NOTE: If disassembling rocker arm assemblies, mark component location for reassembly reference. Components must be installed in original location.
CAUTION: DO NOT  operate engine until 20 minutes after rocker arm assembly installation and until valve lifters have bled down.
