Cylinder Head Overhaul: Valves

- Ensure valve margin, head diameter, refinish length and stem diameter are within specification. See VALVES & VALVE SPRINGS SPECIFICATIONS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Valves are available with oversize valve stems of .005" (.13 mm), .015" (.38 mm) and .030" (.76 mm).
- Once valve and valve spring is installed in cylinder head, valve tip height must be checked. Measure distance from tip of valve stem to surface on cylinder head, just below the spring seat.
- Valve tip height should be within specification. See VALVES & VALVE SPRINGS SPECIFICATIONS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Grind end of valve stem to obtain correct valve tip height (if necessary).
