Piston & Rod Assembly
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1995 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Note direction of connecting rod installation on piston before removal. Connecting rod must be installed in original direction. No other information for connecting rod-to-piston installation is available.
- Before installing piston and rod assembly, hold a straightedge across threads of connecting rod bolts. If threads fail to contact straightedge in all areas, bolts are stretched and must be replaced. Install piston with notch or groove on top of piston toward front (timing chain end) of engine.
