- Ensure fuel line, ferrules and fitting are clean. Install fuel line with ferrules into fitting until ferrule is fully seated.
- Tighten nut by hand. Place wrench on fitting. Tighten nut until increase in resistance is felt. Slowly tighten nut an additional 1/12 turn. DO NOT overtighten nut.
- Check fitting using go/no-go gauge. See Figure. Fitting is properly tightened if go/no-go gauge does not fit between nut and fitting.CAUTION: DO NOT install go/no-go gauge on fitting while tightening the nut.
- If go/no-go gauge fits between fitting and nut after tightening nut, slowly continue to tighten nut in small increments until go/no-go gauge no longer fits. DO NOT overtighten nut.
- Perform fuel line and fitting leak test after servicing fuel line and fitting. See FUEL LINE & FITTING LEAK TEST .
