Fuel Cylinder Purging

CAUTION:
Ensure vehicle is not near open flame when performing fuel cylinder purging.
NOTE:
Fuel cylinder purging must be performed when servicing fuel cylinders or fuel cylinder control valves. If servicing any other fuel system components, see FUEL LINE PURGING .
- Rotate manual shutoff valve to the open position so it is in line with the fuel line. Manual shutoff valve is located near front fuel cylinder. See Figure. If manual shutoff valve is at 90° angle to the fuel line, it is in the closed position. Ensure manual shutoff valve is in line with the fuel line.
- Rotate fuel cylinder control valve(s) counterclockwise to the open position on fuel cylinder(s) to be serviced. Rotate fuel cylinder control valves clockwise to the closed position on all other fuel cylinder that are not being serviced.
- Start and operate engine until it stalls. Attempt to start engine 3 more times.CAUTION: Use care when loosening fuel line fittings, as some fuel pressure may still exist in fuel lines.
- Gradually loosen fuel line fitting at fuel control valve being serviced, allowing fuel pressure to bleed off. Use care when loosening fuel line fitting, as fuel line may still be under pressure. Once fuel pressure is released, fuel control valve or fuel cylinder can be serviced.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
open fuel control valves until all fuel lines are reconnected.
