Fuel Pressure Release
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1995 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Fuel system is under pressure. Fuel pressure must be released before servicing any fuel system components.
- Loosen fuel tank cap to release fuel tank pressure. Disconnect fuel injector wiring harness connector from engine wiring harness. Connect jumper wire from positive battery terminal to terminal No. 1 (Dark Green/Orange wire) on fuel injector wiring harness connector. See Fig 1.
- Connect second jumper wire to ground. Momentarily ground any one fuel injector by touching second jumper wire to a fuel injector terminal in fuel injector wiring harness connector. Refer to Fig. Fig 1. This operates fuel injector and releases fuel pressure.
- Repeat procedure by grounding 2 other fuel injector terminals in fuel injector wiring harness connector. Disconnect jumper wires. Reconnect fuel injector wiring harness to engine wiring harness.
