Fitting Pistons

- Measure cylinder bore diameter at .50" (12.7 mm) below top surface of cylinder bore, middle of cylinder bore and .50" (12.7 mm) from bottom of cylinder bore. Measure piston diameter .08" (2.0 mm) from bottom of piston skirt at 90° angle to piston pin.
- Ensure piston diameter and clearance are within specification. See PISTONS , PINS & RINGS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Cylinder block can be bored for oversize pistons if not within specification. Oversize pistons are available in .010" (.25 mm), .020" (.50 mm), .030" (.75 mm) and .039" (1.00 mm) sizes.
