Oil Pump: Inspection

- Inspect components for damage. Measure clearance between small area of inner rotor and oil pump case. Measure outer rotor-to-oil pump case clearance between outer rotor and oil pump case.
- With inner and outer rotors installed in oil pump case, place straightedge across oil pump case, above both rotors. Using feeler gauge, measure rotor end clearance between rotors and straightedge.
- Ensure relief plunger slides freely in bore of oil pump case. Replace oil pump assembly if any clearance exceeds specification. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
