Water Pump: Removal

- Drain cooling system. Remove upper and lower radiator hoses. On A/C-equipped models, remove A/C compressor with lines attached from solid mount bracket and set aside. Remove alternator.
- Remove mounting bolts No. 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 from solid mount A/C compressor bracket. See Figure. Remove front nut No. 2, and remove (or loosen) front bolt No. 3. Rotate solid mount A/C compressor bracket away from engine, and slide on stud (No. 2) until free.
- On models without A/C, remove alternator and mounting bracket. On all models, disconnect hoses from water pump. Remove water pump housing-to-cylinder block bolts. Remove water pump housing, water pump and "O" ring.
- Remove water pump pulley. Remove water pump-to-housing bolts. Separate water pump from housing. Remove "O" ring from housing groove.
