WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 1995 Dodge Dakota, and 1995 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Inspect bearing journals and bushings for damage. Measure bearing journal diameters and intermediate shaft bushing bore diameters. Determine maximum oil clearance. Replace shaft and/or bushings if measurements are not within specification. See INTERMEDIATE SHAFT SPECIFICATIONS table.
- Using Bushing Remover (C-4697-2 for front bushing and C-4686-1 for rear bushing), replace intermediate shaft bushings if required.
- Using Bushing Installer (C-4697-1 for front bushing and C-4686-2 for rear bushing), install bushings until bushing installer is even with cylinder block.
