Camshaft, Crankshaft Or Intermediate Shaft Sprocket Oil Seal: Removal

  1. Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. For crankshaft sprocket seal replacement, remove crankshaft sprocket bolt. Using Crankshaft Sprocket Puller/Installer (C-4685) and puller insert, remove crankshaft sprocket. See Fig 1.
  2. To remove camshaft or intermediate shaft sprockets, use Sprocket Holder (C-4687) and Adapter (C-4687-1) to hold sprocket and remove sprocket bolt. See Figure. Note direction of sprocket offset for installation reference. Remove sprocket.
  3. Using Crankshaft Sprocket Seal Remover (C-6341) or Intermediate Shaft/Camshaft Seal Remover (C-4679), remove sprocket oil seals. See Fig 2.
