Valve Springs

  1. Measure valve spring free length, out-of-square and pressure. Replace valve spring if measurements are not within specification. See VALVES & VALVE SPRINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. Measure valve spring installed height from lower edge of valve spring to upper edge. DO NOT  include spring seat or retainer flange. If valve spring installed height is not within specification, add an additional spring seat.
