Removal & Disassembly

  1. Remove oil pan. See OIL PAN  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove oil pick-up tube-to-oil pump bolt. Remove pick-up tube and "O" ring. Remove oil pump-to-cylinder block bolts. Remove oil pump.
  2. Remove pump cover-to-pump housing bolts. Remove pump cover. Note direction of rotor installation. Remove inner and outer rotors. See Fig 1. Remove pin, cap, spring and pressure relief valve from oil pump housing. Clean all components in solvent, and blow dry using compressed air.
