Removal & Installation (2.5L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On models with A/C, remove A/C drive belt. Remove bolts retaining A/C compressor to mounting bracket. Without disconnecting A/C refrigerant lines, move A/C compressor aside to allow generator removal.
  2. Remove generator drive belt and generator mounting bolts. Move generator aside to access wire connectors. On Bosch generator, remove B+ terminal nut, field terminal nuts and ground harness hold down nuts. Remove wire connector assembly.
  3. On Nippondenso generator, remove field terminal nuts, ground terminal nut, wire harness nut and B+ terminal nut. Remove B+ terminal nut last to prevent damage to insulator.
  4. Remove generator from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
