Test 93B - Inoperative Seat Belt Lamp

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
  1. Disconnect seat belt switch connector, located under driver's seat. Connect jumper wire between seat belt switch connector terminals No. 1 (Light Green/Red wire) and No. 2 (Black wire). Go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, replace left front seat belt switch. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire from seat belt switch connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). Connect jumper wire between seat belt switch connector terminal No. 1 (Light Green/Red wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect jumper wire. Access Body Control Module (BCM), located behind left side knee panel. With BCM connectors connected, connect jumper wire between BCM Blue connector terminal No. 14 (Light Green/Red wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, repair open Light Green/Red wire. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, replace BCM.
