Test 8A - No Chime With Seat Belt Unfastened & Key On For 6 Seconds

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Turn ignition off. Ensure left front door is closed. Unbuckle driver's seat belt. Turn ignition on, engine off. If chime sounds, system is okay at this time. If chime does not sound, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to TEST 93B. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read ignition voltage. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to TEST 3A. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Blue connector terminal No. 6 (Dark Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Dark Blue wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM.
