Test 7A - No Chime With Ignition Off, Key In Ignition & LF Door Open

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Turn ignition off. Ensure key is in ignition. Open left front door. If chime sounds, system is okay at this time. If chime does not sound, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 26A. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read key in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to TEST 3A. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect key in ignition switch connector (4-wire connector at ignition switch). Connect a jumper wire between key in ignition switch connector terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 2 (Light Blue wire). If scan tool displays KEY IN IGN CLOSED, replace ignition switch. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between key in ignition switch connector terminal No. 2 (Light Blue wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGN CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to next step.
- Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between BCM Blue connector terminal No. 2 (Light Blue wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGN CLOSED, repair open Light Blue wire. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGN CLOSED, replace BCM.
