Test 61A - Illuminated Entry Inoperative With Both Doors

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Blue connector terminal No. 16 (White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to step 5). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Remove left door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch harness connector. Check resistance of BCM Blue connector terminal No. 16 (White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace left front door illuminated entry switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Remove right front door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch harness connector. Check resistance of BCM Blue connector terminal No. 16 (White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace right front door illuminated entry switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in White wire.
- Remove left door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 1 (White wire). Check resistance of BCM Blue connector terminal No. 16 (White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White wire.
