  1. Remove key from ignition switch. Ensure headlamps and parking lamps are off. Open left front door. If chime does not sound, system is okay at this time. If chime sounds, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read key in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to step 6). If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to next step.

  5. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Natural connector terminal No. 8 (Tan wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair Tan wire for short to voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace BCM.
  6. Disconnect key in ignition switch connector (4-wire connector at ignition switch). Using scan tool, read key in ignition status. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGN CLOSED, replace ignition switch. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGN CLOSED, go to next step.
  7. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
  8. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Blue connector terminal No. 2 (Light Blue wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire.
