Test 58A - Headlamps Will Not Turn Off

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Ensure ignition is off. Turn headlamp switch off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Natural connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If headlamps go off, replace BCM. If headlamps do not go off, go to next step.
- Remove low beam headlamp relay. If headlamps do not go off, go to step 5). If headlamps go off, go to next step.
- Gain access to back of relay block. Ensure low beam headlamp relay is still removed. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of low beam headlamp relay connector (Orange/White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace low beam headlamp relay. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave scan tool connected and go to next step.
- Disconnect left pod switch connectors. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Orange/White wire for short to ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace left pod switch.
- Remove fuses No. 17 and 18 from fuse block. If both headlamps go off, repair short to voltage in Violet/White wire between headlamp low beam relay and fuses. If headlamps do not go off, repair short to voltage in Violet wire between low beam relay and headlamps.
