Test 40A - Shorted Park Lamp Power Supply

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Turn ignition off. remove park lamp relay. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of park lamp relay connector terminal No. 36 (Pink/Red wire) or No. 39 (Pink/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Red wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between park lamp relay terminals. See Figure . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace park lamp relay and fuse No. 2. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, go to next step.
- Replace fuse No. 2. Reinstall park lamp relay. Ensure park lamp switch is on. Remove and inspect fuse No. 2. If fuse is open, repair short to ground in Black/Yellow wire and replace fuse No. 2. If fuse is okay, repair is complete.
