Test 31C - EIC Battery Power Supply

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Install replacement IOD fuse. Remove and inspect new IOD fuse. If fuse is open, go to step 5). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Reinstall IOD fuse. If vehicle is not equipped with power door locks and power mirrors, system is okay. If vehicle is equipped with either power door locks or power mirrors, go to next step.
- If vehicle is not equipped with power door locks, go to next step. Push one power door lock switch to UNLOCK position. If power door lock system does not operate properly, reconnect all disconnected components and go to TEST 69A. If power door lock system operates properly and vehicle is not equipped with power mirrors, system is okay. If vehicle is equipped with power mirrors, go to next step.
- Push power mirror switch to operate mirrors in all directions. Remove and inspect IOD fuse. If fuse is open, repair short in power mirror circuit. If IOD fuse is okay, system is okay.NOTE: Ensure vanity mirror, courtesy lamps, glove box and under-seat lamps are off. All doors and hood MUST be closed during the following test steps.
- Disconnect left pod switch Black connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 7). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Check resistance of left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 5 (Pink/Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Light Blue wire and replace IOD fuse. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Pink wire and replace IOD fuse.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM and IOD fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect EIC connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace EIC and IOD fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect radio connectors. Check resistance of IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace radio and IOD fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink wire and replace IOD fuse.
