Test 27A - Open Right Door Ajar Circuit

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Disconnect right front door ajar switch connector. Check condition of connector and door ajar switch connector ground strap. Clean or repair connector and ground strap as necessary. Go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between right door ajar switch connector (Tan/Red wire) and chassis ground. Using scan tool, read right front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace right door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind left side knee panel. Check condition of connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between BCM Natural connector terminal No. 1 (Tan/Red wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, repair open in Tan/Red wire between BCM connector and right door ajar switch connector. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
