Test 24A - Courtesy Lamps Inoperative With Dome Lamp Switch

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
  1. Gain access to left pod switch Black connector. Ensure all doors are closed. Leave connector connected. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 2 (Black/Light Blue wire). If courtesy lamps illuminate, go to step 4). If courtesy lamps do not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect left pod switch Black connector and Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Go to next step.
  3. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Black/Light Blue wire between Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector terminal No. 13 and left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
  4. Turn ignition off and disconnect left pod switch Black connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 6 (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace left pod switch.
