Test 22B - Courtesy Lamps Inoperative Power Circuit

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
NOTE: Ensure vanity mirror, glove box and under-seat lamps are off. All doors MUST be closed during the following test steps.
  1. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of fused battery feed circuit (Pink wire) at IOD fuse in Power Distribution Center (PDC). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace IOD fuse. Perform TEST VER-1B. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect left pod switch Black connector. Check resistance of left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 4 (Pink wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 4). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Check resistance of pod switch Black connector terminal No. 5 (Pink/Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Light Blue wire and replace IOD fuse. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace left pod switch and IOD fuse.
  4. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Ensure probe is still connected to IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM and IOD fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Check resistance at IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair or replace instrument cluster and replace IOD fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Disconnect radio connectors. Check resistance at IOD fuse connector (Pink wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace radio and fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink wire and replace IOD fuse.
