Test 22A - Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
  1. Using scan tool, actuate courtesy lamps. If courtesy lamps cycle on and off, go to TEST 22C. If courtesy lamps do not cycle on and off, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Access left pod switch Black connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 4 (Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 4). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Remove and inspect IOD fuse in fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to TEST 22B. If fuse is okay, check voltage on battery feed circuit (Black/Yellow wire) at IOD fuse. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Black/Yellow wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Pink wire as necessary.
  4. With dimmer control lever in center position, backprobe left pod switch Black connector terminal No. 5 (Pink/Light Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace left pod switch. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Gain access to rear dome lamp terminals. Leave dome lamp connected. Check voltage on courtesy lamp switch output circuit (Pink/Light Blue wire) at dome lamp connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink/Light Blue wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  6. Check voltage on courtesy lamps driver circuit (Yellow wire) at dome lamp connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace open bulb. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Yellow wire.
