Test 103C - Repairing Oil Pressure Sending Unit (W/Oil Gauge)

section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool, read oil pressure voltage. If voltage is less than 8 volts, go to step 5). If voltage is more than 8 volts, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read oil pressure sending unit status. If scan tool does not display OIL PRS LOW CLOSED, go to TEST 103B. If scan tool displays OIL PRS LOW CLOSED, go to next step.
- Start engine. Using scan tool, read oil pressure voltage. If voltage is more than 5 volts, go to TEST 103D. If voltage is less than 5 volts, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read oil pressure sending unit status. If scan tool does not display OIL PRS LOW OPEN, go to TEST 103E. If scan tool displays OIL PRS LOW OPEN, turn ignition off. System is operating properly.
- Disconnect oil pressure sending unit connector. Using scan tool, read oil pressure sending unit voltage. If voltage is more than 8 volts, replace oil pressure sending unit. If voltage is less than 8 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Natural connector. BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Natural connector terminal No. 11 (Gray/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Gray/Yellow wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
