Removal & Installation

  1. Valve is located inboard of frame rail, near left rear wheel housing. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PURGING  . Raise and support vehicle. Remove heat shield from right side of fuel cylinders.
  2. Remove large plastic stone shield below fuel cylinders. Remove rubber stone shield below fuel pressure regulator. Pry out rubber shield clips. Loosen valve handle set screw, and remove handle.
  3. Clean area around fuel tube fittings. Loosen valve mounting nut under handle. Remove fuel tubes from "T" fitting at front of valve. Loosen bolt securing mounting bracket to front cylinder. DO NOT remove bolt.
  4. Loosen fitting connecting fuel cylinder control valve to manual shutoff valve. Remove manual shutoff valve with mounting bracket.
  5. Install valve. DO NOT tighten mounting bolts. Install "T" fitting. Connect all tube fittings loosely. After all tubes, fittings and valve have been installed, check alignment, and tighten fittings. Install handle, and tighten set screw. Check tubes and fittings for leaks. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
