Removal & Installation

- Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PURGING . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect flexible low pressure fuel hose at fuel rail. Use Snap-On Quick Release Fuel Line Tool (9055-2) to separate locking fingers in fuel hose from fuel rail.
- Remove air intake hose from throttle body. Disconnect harness connectors from throttle body. Disconnect all vacuum lines from throttle body and intake manifold. Disconnect throttle cables from throttle body. Remove PCV hose. Disconnect MAP and HO2S harness connectors.
- Remove ignition coil pack. Remove alternator support bracket. Unbolt and lift upper intake manifold half (plenum). Remove underside ground strap. Disconnect wiring harness clips, and remove manifold half. Disconnect all harness connectors from fuel injector rail, including injector harness connectors.
- Remove injector rail mounting bolts. Gently rock injector rail while pulling upward until injectors have cleared intake manifold. To remove injector, remove clip retaining injector to fuel rail.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Clean all components thoroughly. Install NEW "O" rings (CNG type), and apply Parker O-Lube(R) to "O" rings as components are assembled.
