Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Dodge Ram Wagon, 1995 Dodge Ram Van, 1995 Dodge Pickup, and 1995 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The ASD relay is a cut-off relay for the following components.

When ignition switch is turned to RUN position, PCM energizes ASD relay, which powers these components. If PCM does not receive a crankshaft signal shortly thereafter, PCM will de-energize ASD relay, and power to these components is cut off.
