Test TC-13A - No ASD Relay Volt Sense At Pcm

If scan tool also displays AUTO SHUTDOWN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT, go to TEST TC-12A. If scan tool does not display AUTO SHUTDOWN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT, use scan tool to erase DTCs. Start and idle engine. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC does not reset, go to next step. If NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC resets, go to step 5).
Condition required to set DTC is not present at this time. NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC sets if no voltage is sensed at Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay is energized. Possible causes are: open or short in ASD relay and fuel pump relay control circuits (Dark Blue/Yellow wire), open or short in ASD relay ignition feed circuit (Light Green/Black wire), or failed driver in Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Go to next step.
Inspect all related wiring and connectors, and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1. If no problems are found with wiring and connectors, go to next step.
While engine is running, wiggle wiring harness from ASD relay to PCM. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC returns, repair wiring harness as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1. If NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC does not return, see INACTIVE DTC CONDITION . Perform TEST VER-1.
Remove Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on ASD relay connector battery feed circuit (Gray/White wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Gray/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
If voltage is more than 10 volts, install a known-good ASD relay. Using scan tool, erase DTC. Start engine and let it idle. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC does not reset, replace original ASD relay. Perform TEST VER-1.
If NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM DTC resets, turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Dark Green/Orange wire between ASD relay connector and PCM connector terminal No. 57. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green/Orange wire. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1.
