Test NTC-4B - Checking Air Intake Heater No. 2

  1. Place scan tool in voltmeter mode. Check for voltage at both Black wires on top of heater relay No. 2. If voltage is not more than 10 volts at either wire, repair open Black wire between heater relay and battery. Perform TEST VER-1.
  2. If voltage is more than 10 volts at each wire, actuate heater relay No. 2 using scan tool. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on both Black wires at heater block. If voltage is not more than 10 volts at either wire, repair open feed circuit (Black wire) between heater relay No. 2 and heater block. Perform TEST VER-1.
  3. If voltage is more than 10 volts at each wire, turn ignition off. Place scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Check resistance of air intake heater block ground wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace air intake heater. Perform TEST VER-1.
