Multi-Port Fuel Injection (MFI)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1995 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Individual, electrically pulsed injectors (one per cylinder) are located in intake manifold fuel rails. These injectors are next to intake valves in intake manifold. MFI system features sequential injection. PCM controls injection timing based on crankshaft position signal input. Air/fuel mixture is regulated by length of time injector stays open (pulse width) based on oxygen sensor, temperature sensor, manifold pressure and other sensor inputs.
