Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1995 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

CMP is located on top of timing case cover next to right engine mount. This sensor reads slots in cam timing sprocket. PCM uses this information along with information from Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor to determine if fuel injectors and ignition coils are properly sequenced for correct cylinders.
