Test NTC-6A - Checking TP Sensor Calibration

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position, leaving engine off. Using scan tool, read Throttle Position (TP) sensor voltage. Ensure throttle is fully closed and against throttle stop. If voltage is more than 1.5 volts with throttle closed, replace TP sensor. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage is less than 1.5 volts with throttle closed, observe scan tool voltage display and slowly open throttle to wide open position.
  2. If voltage does not change smoothly, replace TP sensor. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage changes smoothly, and maximum voltage is less than 3.4 volts at wide open throttle, replace TP sensor. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage changes smoothly, and maximum voltage is more than 3.4 volts at wide open throttle, TP sensor is okay. Test is complete.
