Scan Tool Diagnostic Mode

  1. Turn all accessories off. Turn ignition off. Attach appropriate 1995 cartridge to scan tool. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located in engine compartment, near PCM.
  2. Turn ignition on. Start engine (if possible). With foot on brake, move transmission shift lever through all positions, ending in Park (A/T) or Neutral (M/T). Turn A/C switch on and then off (if equipped).
  3. Turn ignition off. Without starting engine again, turn ignition on. Enter selection No. 1, STANDALONE DRB. Enter selection No. 1, CHRYSLER DOMESTIC. Enter selection No. 1, ENGINE. Proceed until READ DTCS selection is offered. After DTCs are accessed, go to TEST NS-1A (NO-START TEST-1A) or TEST TC-1A (DTC TEST-1A) (see below) to diagnose problem.
  4. To erase DTCs while in this mode, press BACK key. At scan tool display, scroll to YES - ERASE DTCS. A confirmation message should then appear, DTCS ERASED.
