Test NS-2D - Inspecting Fuel Relays & Solenoids

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect and inspect high pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1. If connector is okay, using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of high pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector, power ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, actuate fuel system using scan tool. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on high pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector, fuel shutoff relay output circuit (Dark Green/Black wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace high pressure fuel shutoff solenoid. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, turn ignition off. Disconnect and inspect fuel shutoff relay connector. Repair as necessary. Using scan tool, check voltage on fuel shutoff relay connector, battery positive (B+) circuit (Dark Green/White wire on). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Dark Green/White wire from battery to fuel shutoff relay. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, use an external ohmmeter to check resistance of fuel shutoff relay output circuit (Dark Green/Black wire) between fuel shutoff relay connector and high pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green/Black wire from fuel shutoff relay to high pressure fuel shutoff solenoid. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace fuel shutoff relay. Perform TEST VER-1.
