Test NS-2C - Inspecting Fuel Relays & Solenoids

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect and inspect low pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1. If connector is okay, using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of low pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector, power ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, using scan tool, actuate fuel system. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on low pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector, ASD relay output circuit (Dark Green/Orange wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace low pressure fuel shutoff solenoid. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, turn ignition off. Disconnect and inspect Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay connector. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1. If connector is okay, using scan tool, check voltage on ASD relay connector, battery positive (B+) circuit (Red/White wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Red/White wire from battery to ASD relay. Perform TEST VER-1.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, use an external ohmmeter to check resistance of ASD relay output circuit (Dark Green/Orange wire) between ASD relay connector and low pressure fuel shutoff solenoid connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green/Orange wire from ASD relay to low pressure fuel shutoff solenoid. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ASD relay. Perform TEST VER-1.
