Test TC-11A - Right O2S Stays Above Center (Rich) (DTC 52)

- Start engine. Allow engine to run until normal operating temperature is reached. Using scan tool, set engine speed to 1500 RPM. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read RT O2S sensor voltage. Snap throttle several times while monitoring scan tool. If RT O2S voltage is not always more than 0.5 volt, condition required to set trouble code is not present at this time. Go to next step. If RT O2S voltage is always more than 0.5 volt, go to step 4).
- RIGHT O2S STAYS ABOVE CENTER (RICH) trouble code sets if RT O2S output voltage stays at more than 0.5 volt, but less than 1.2 volts without switching for 8 minutes. Possible causes are: high fuel pressure, other engine sensor calibration failures, ignition system failure, O2S failure or mechanical engine problem. Go to TEST NTC-1A.
- If LEFT O2S STAYS ABOVE CENTER (RICH) trouble code is not also set, replace leaking injector for right intake manifold bank. Perform TEST VER-2. If LEFT O2S STAYS ABOVE CENTER (RICH) trouble code is also set, a condition causing engine to run rich in all cylinders is indicated. Go to TEST NTC-1A.
